Deepika is a security guard at the WHO office in New Delhi. She stumbled upon art and handicrafts one year ago when her colleagues noticed her eye for colours, shapes and aesthetic in everything that she does, and encouraged her to try her hand at different forms of art.
Slowly, using scrap paper and material from around her,
she immersed herself in the art of paper quilling, looking up new patterns and ideas to try. She is self-taught and continues to experiment with various mediums of art, taking things one day at a time. Deepika's motivation is simple, she likes to see stories unfold with her hands- hidden tales of bright colours and elaborate design.
Deepika started her quilling journey as a way to show her love and appreciation for the people around her, and continues to perfect her craft and test her boundaries with new ideas, new mediums and new challenges.
